John

After 2 years in the Australian outback and exploring the wilds of New
Zealand by motorbike, John began his career as an expedition leader.
Over the next 8 years John was responsible for planning and leading an
impressive number of trans-continental expeditions. His expeditions,
which took him through some of our planet's most hostile and
inhospitable countries, included a number of 7 month trips from London
to Bali and to Cape Town.

John has driven from the lowest road on earth in Jordan to the world's
highest pass at 18,380ft in Ladakh. He has crossed the world's three
largest deserts. He was the first to gain entry into Cambodia with a British
registered vehicle when it re-opened to the world in 2000.

John has since been involved in one-off, specialist projects and recently
worked for Matt Damon on the making of the soon to be released
"Running the Sahara". Providing logistical back up to the film crew and
runners, John spent 111 days crossing the Sahara desert from East to
West (as the crow flies).

Having supported and led numerous trips worldwide John can turn this
expertise to ensuring a trip works. From planning and feasibility to
transport, local negotiations he can facilitate the smooth running of any
trip.
Stephen

Stephen has spent over a decade and a half of leading organising and
planning trans continental trips. After University Stephen joined an
Overland Expedition company  and his first two trips were London to
Kathmandu and London to Cape Town. From there on he went on to
lead numerous trips, from a couple of weeks to 7 months he has spent
more years than he care to talk about involved in running trips and
expeditions around the world. Having spent so many years running
expeditions Stephen has dealt with most problems that arise on
expeditions.

A decision to do a masters in Responsible Tourism led to a shift from
leading and he moved on to Operations and Program Manger positions
whilst juggling  the Responsible Tourism Manger role.

A new family has meant a change in direction, and after a bit of pub talk
early in 2007 Stephen and John decided to use their combined expertise
to provide this expedition support service.

Expedition support was conceived early in 2007 after numerous requests for assistance with
planning and running trips and expeditions.

John, Stephen and Ali have more experience and knowledge of running trips around the world
than most so they decided to put this to good use by providing a dedicated support service.
Alison

Alison is an experienced manager who has worked throughout Asia,
Africa and South America.  Work in both the corporate and charity
sectors has given her an in-depth knowledge of business development,
project management and logistics.  Ali holds a Masters degree in
International Development, and has worked extensively with clients and
volunteers on overseas expeditions and projects.  Recently she lived in
Patagonia for three years, working as Country Director for a leading UK
youth development charity, which involved expedition management for
groups of up to 150.  Key aspects of the role included crisis
management and risk assessment, as expeditions operated in isolated
areas, often only accessible on foot or by helicopter.   Ali has travelled
extensively outside work, including living in the United States for one
year.  She speaks spanish, is a chartered insurer and a qualified first
aider.
Ali was not in the pub when Stephen and John came up with the plan.  If
she had been, things might have been different...
